Living In Hutchinson, Ks

I contacted USDA and am egible for a home loan from them. Problem is it has to be out of the city limits of where I live. I can do that. Problem is it has to be $29,600.00 or less home. There are none outside city limits for that price, even in smaller egible towns. Lots in city limit, but they won't loan in this area. I'll keep looking and my friend has a realtor friend that will keep an eye out for me. Seems like outside the city the houses are truly high. Not giving up. Have my two little schnauzers to keep me going, cause I'm not giving either of them up. Happy New Year to everyone and hopefully 2011 will be a better year for all. God Bless everyone.

About angel in pain

I'm sorry things have gone so badly for you. There's a lot of info on this site. I can't help anyone finacially, barely keep my own head above water. Trying to find a home of my own. Currently staying with friends but don't want to over stay my welcome. It took me about 1 1/2 yrs b4 I got on SS disability. I know some who got on in a couple of months and others who it took years. Hang in there. Always file an appeal immediately if they turn u down. You should be egible for foodstamps and a state medical card while you're waiting for the disability process. Hope you find the help you need soon. God Bless you.

in response to Starshine...   I checked on buying a HUD Home, but they told me I still have to have a voucher first and it's a 1 1/2 to 2 yr wait for that. Thank you anyway.

About Desperate1948

in response to Starshine...   I thank you, but I will not give up either of my dogs. They are my family, and I wold live in my PU truck before I'd give them up. I'm trying to come up with a good large camper, cause I can afford lot rent for one--- just can't afford the camper. the shelter they have here is a kill shelter, but even if it weren't I won't give them up. I can take care of the. If it means no help from anyone or anywhere, if I don't give one or both of them up, then I just won't get any help. My dogs are healthy and I take good care of them. I'm sorry you had to put your cat down. There is NO Chance I would EVER consider giving either of them up. I've manage before and will manage again. That's not even an option with me. Thank you anyway. They don't eat alot...nibblers...so I have no problem feeding them. I groom them myself, and take them to the vet when they need him and keep them up to date on all their shots. Guess this site, is just ppl who need help coming to it. Those who might be ble to help, don't come cause they don't need help. I've done all the housing things, but i'm funny I guess -- won't live in an apt. maybe a duplex, but ground floor, mobilehome, regular house, or a camper. But no high rise apt, and that's all they have for over 55 here -- and won't let me have both my dogs. A person can be in need, but that doesn't mean you have to give up what means the most to you, just to put a rood over your head. Atleast for me it doesn't mean I have too give them up. Like I said, I'd live in my PU truck first. But thank you anyway, but don't send me anything about shelters, or anything to do with giving up my dogs.

I should live anywhere but Hutchinson, Kansas. Nothing here to help. Hud has 1 1/2 to 2 Yr waiting list for section 8 housing. If I had the money to move from here, I'd have the money to rent a place at full price. I've been to sights all over the web, and have come to the conclusion that the only ones who come to sites like this, are those who need help. Those capable of helping, just don't bother.

About Desperate1948

I'm retired, age 62 1/2.  I have 2 small Schnauzers. I had been living with a life long friend, paying 1/2 of all the bills etc.  He has a drinking problem, and last week he got drunk and told me to leave.  I left with my 2 dogs, and am staying temporairly with another friend and her husband.  I didn't get gone fast enough and got beat up some. Always before it was him just yelling then passing out.  This was the first time he ever got physically violent. He's remorseful now but I can't go back cause he won't quit drinking.  His son went with me a couple of days later and helped me get my stuff out of his house.

I applied for Section 8 housing. but there is a 1 1/2 to 2 yr waiting period before I can get approved. I can't stay with my friend and her husband that long.

I recieve SS for the amount of $694.00 a month.  I checked at a few apts., but I would have to get rid of one of my dogs.  They are my family.  I've had them since they were babies and they are 5 and 6 yrs. old now. They would die if they were separated from each other or from me. And I would have my heart broken.

I can't afford the amount of rent they ask here for a house, and even then it's hard to find one that will rent to people with one small dog, let alone two of them. I'm a responsible pet owner and both of my dogs are nuetered, and always up to date on their shots.  Like I said they are my family.  I have no other family here, and none elsewhere that can help me out.

I started looking on Craigslist, and found several good used 1990's model camper trailers that are what they call "4-season" (sealed bottom and insulated good enough to live in year around even in Kansas's cold winters), that are in really good shape, that I could buy reasonably: except I don't have the money to buy one.  They run about $7,000.00 with purchase price, taxes and tags. I have the money to pay lot rent which includes water, sewer, trash, and electric. I just need someone or several people to give me the money or shares of the money to buy the camper.  My other alternative is if someone within my area has a good 4-season camper, that everything in it worked good, that they would donate to me. I own a 3/4 PU truck that will pull one if it's a bumper pull, but if a 5th wheel, I''d need it delivered since I don't have a 5th wheel hitch nor a way to buy and install one.

I say give me, because I CAN afford to pay lot rent, pay insurance, buy my non foodstamp necessities, pay my medication co-pay, but CAN NOT afford to make a payment in addition to all that, on what I get amonth to live on.  I've been on SS disability since 1997 and am unable to work, but can take care of myself and my dogs, as long as I take my medicine, and eat properly, which I do.  I live in Hutchinson, Ks. and don't know where else to go for help.  If anyone who comes here really helps people, please consider helping me. Thank you and God Bless.
